Paul B. Arts (Media/Communications) Says : |
The diversity - of people and subject selection.
Since its such a large uni, theres something for everyone. If youre keen to fit into the sports scene, you can.
If youre keen to fit into the arts scene, you can - whoever you are, there are friends you can make with similar interests. The same goes for subject selection, particularly within the Arts faculty.
Rather than the broad, cover-all subjects offered at other universities, were given the opportunity to sink our teeth into juicier, more specific topics. For example, at other univerisities "American History" may be offered, while at USYD you can choose to study courses that focus solely on the American Civil War, or the history of New York, or slavery. This makes things a lot more interesting.

Priya B. Economics / B. Laws Says : |
The quality of the students. The fact that the cutoffs for the courses are so high mean that you are studying with some of the smartest people in the state and it really provides a challenging experience which really encourages people to work hard.

Margaret B. Science/B. Commerce Says : |
The atmosphere/buildings. Seriously, I picked Sydney because of the Quad - as vain as that sounds. If I couldn't get into the hallowed halls of Oxbridge, Sydney's the next best thing! I don't think I could've motivated myself to study in the concrete jungle that is UNSW.

Emma B. Speech Pathology Says : |
The best thing about uni was the content taught in the theoretical classes. I appreciate this knowledge because it helps me to have a greater understanding on issues of the world now, aswell as scientific knowledge. I am glad I didn't have subjects based purely on speech pathology subjects. It was good to have a holistic learning approach.

bolton B. Arts (Advanced); Masters of Media Practice Says : |
The atmosphere.
The quality of the education at Sydney University - lecturers and academic engagement of fellow students - was also very good, on the whole.
The University of Sydney's support services - financial assistance, career centre and so forth - are excellent.
