Allie B B. Commerce / B. Arts Says : |
The best thing in my opinion about UNSW is the many opportunities it presents students with. Academically, there is much support, with extra classes for first year subjects in Commerce, run by honours students, to help those that require a little more time to understand key subjects.
There is the opportunity to attend workshops which run all semester, preparing students who may be seeking employment, or preparing themselves for the workforce, with seminars including interview skills, perfecting presentation skills, and preparing resumes and cover letters.
However the opportunities at UNSW also extend beyond the classroom, whereby there are many different volunteering positions for people who want to meet new people, as well as numerous clubs and societies.
Lastly, UNSW strongly encourages students to go on exchange, something I was lucky to have the opportunity to participate in, and the whole process of studying abroad and having credits transferred was done with ease. Overall, UNSW provides so many different opportunities in all facets of university life, making it a complete experience.

Adrian B. Commerce /B. Laws Says : |
I like UNSW because it is highly-regarded by employers in the industry. There are a lot of opportunities to develop skills that are valued by employers, for example, being involved in the UNSW Economics Society and the UNSW Law Faculty Board. You can also get to know passionate and hard-working classmates even better and be friends for life!

Tom B. Arts/B. Engineering Says : |
THE SOCIETIES! Circusoc, Germsoc, EWB, nuts, etc etc. The societies are a lot of fun, and keep you awake during some of the more monotonous university times. Every week I like forward to monday Circus meet, hanging out with awesome people, learning new skills, and heading down to the rege for a post training drink is the best thing ever. On top of that, the events held are always fun, and tend to end up in a pile of hugs and laughter.
Germsoc, (german) hosts awesome events every now and then, that tend to be very cheap and loads of fun :) EWB (engineers without borders) is a bit more about helping others, which I like. It is entirely filled with hippys (the non stoned type) who are out there to do what they can for the rest of the world. The events are always informative, and fun, though mainly because it attracts awesome people.
Finally Nuts (performance.) What can I say. Nuts is Nuts. People perform, and I love watching the talents, while attempting to keep up. Sadly I dont have that much time for nuts anymore, though still check out the shows. All in all, I think the societies is the most important thing to look at before selecting a uni. Think about the things you love to do, and find out which uni's have those things, and go there! Seriously.

Gill B. Art Education Says : |
The main campus has many facilities on site as well as a lot to offer young students who may be from out of area living away from home. The campus I studied at did not have these facilities but there was a free bus that came every 3 hours across to the main campus, a one hour trip.
UNSW has an excellent public library as well as the Round house bar which is home to many international bands and events. The campus provided studio space, dark rooms for photography processing, A beautiful Paddington location in prestegious Oxford street.

Id have to say the high standard of teaching, dedication and resources available to students. Teachers are approachable, educated and many have high level qualifications. The atmosphere, is mostly friendly and there is a good sense of university pride.

The size of the campus - not too small, not too big.
It's not in the middle of the city.
Nice grass.
My parents came here.
